Sleep Studies

A sleep test is done to diagnose sleep apnea. Sleep apnea means “cessation of breath”. An over night sleep test involves monitoring brain waves, muscle tension, eye movement, respirations, oxygen level in the blood as well as snoring, gasping, etc. This is a painless test done in the hospital setting and is usually covered by insurance. Midwest Sleep Services, based out of Waterloo, Iowa comes to Central Community Hospital to perform the test.
